Hey, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and introduce yourself to everyone?
Hey, it's Korej from Metalshop TV! I mean Honza - born in Cesky Tesin, living in Prague for many years and currently living in Olomouc. Metal analyst for the poor, who is in charge of Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and overall various marketing activities in Metalshop - to be heard and seen :) When I'm not working, and not listening to metal, I like to listen to music in my free time - like metal.
How long have you been listening to metal and what band brought you to it?
I've been listening to hard music for almost 20 years! I was first introduced to it in about 2003 by Linkin Park, then it was just a step from them to Slipknot, and from Slipknot again just a step to other subgenres and bands, and thus to what could be called active metal listening.
And what's your favourite band now? Everybody has one heartthrob!
The ultimate heartthrob will (probably) always be Slipknot. It's also the band, by the way, that got me into Metalshop in a way - I've been doing a website about them since 2005, and our paths started to cross with Metalshop back then (only slightly, of course, I was finishing primary school at the time :)) Other than that, they've been quite successful lately with Ghost, Gojira, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Orbit Culture... and many more!
What is your favourite brand from the Metalshop range? And why?
Of the brands, probably Killstar - since Metalshop stocks new collections almost every week, there's always something to do in terms of marketing! :) I also have stuff from Sullen or Hyraw in my wardrobe.
What was the best concert or festival you've ever attended and why is it so memorable?
Pinching one thing is practically impossible. For example, every vintage of Brutal is great, and I really can't choose one "best". And from concerts? It's similar there. But Slipknot were very special in Prague in 2016 - the first row, a short meeting with the band and also the story of how I bought a meeting with the band for the then hefty 7000 CZK, then I lost the ticket on the tram during an unexpected meeting with the auditors and I had to buy it again. Well, these youthful rebellions only lead to… :)
